A couple of months ago I was relieving myself in a restroom and couldn’t help but notice a tract sitting on top of the pisser.

After I finished emptying the bowels I proceeded to the sink, where I found one of those “one-pagers” designed to scare the hell out of you (literally).

Now this definitely isn’t the first time I’ve seen one of these things in a public place. My typical response to running across one of these is to lower my head in shame and cast the piece of religious propaganda into the trash. However, this time I just got pissed (before, during, and after the real pissing).
Here’s the best part… The restroom I was in wasn’t any old restroom; it was the restroom IN MY CHURCH! Someone seriously left religious tracts in my church restroom. I was helping lead worship at the event these were “strategically placed” at. It was a Christian event with very few attendees, but one of them was obviously quite a rambunctious evangelizer.
What an insult. Is it because my church doesn’t have a crucifix prominently displayed on any of its walls or orifices? Is it because my church is labeled a “seeker” church, or in many people’s eyes, a “stealer” church?
I’m not sure of the motives; but please, we believe, worship, and seek to live a lifestyle for the same Jesus. Yeah, my church doesn’t always sing “classic” hymns or involve full body palpitations and thrusting, but it’s centered and built on the same New Testament Jesus.

So I was taking a walk in and around the park the other day and ran across this sign in a nearby apartment complex. I’ve got nothing against the church or the people running this VBS, or VBS in general (free babysitting!), but I can only wonder whose idea it was to use this guy as a mascot.

The lamp light beckons life,
These thoughts have come before,
The memories incessantly recur

Where did you come from, invading every thought.
Reason for the lack of any senseless sleep
I give up trying to not think of you
I’ve seemed to let you in, before completely knowing you
Come and feel
All I want to give

Won’t you talk with me for a while.
Talk with me, and smile.
Even time and space may pass us by.
Hope to see your face becomes the alibi.
So I wait, and wait
To get wasted on your love,

I’ve tried to sing, the happy song, but I’ve been in need
but then you came, into my life, the song, started over
I begin to
Live like yesterday, I was alive
Like like yesterday, my soulful smile

The Interplay of Real Life and Facebook in Defining Interpersonal Romantic Relationships
Electronic communication has been redefining the ways in which people communicate with each other since its wide-spread introduction in the 1990’s. E-mail, instant messaging, internet forums, and social networking have added entirely new meanings to interpersonal interaction and community.

This is a serious video that’s an attempt at an artistic video journal detailing lost love. It was filmed on a fall evening with one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. I chased the sunset with my camera, as the sun had already set on lost love.

Ahh yes… My infamous parties. This is a little video that chronicles a few things from my October 6, 2007 Party. The hymn singing is included for the sake of weirdness.
